What we collect
- Account data: your email address (and Google account ID if you sign in with Google), used solely for authentication.
- Learning data: the words you add, your language settings, folders, and training statistics (correct/wrong answers), used to provide the training features.
- Usage data: approximate session activity timestamps, used to operate and improve the service.
Microphone
The app uses your microphone only while voice input or hands-free mode is active, to recognize your spoken answers. Speech recognition is performed by Deepgram or by your browser (Google speech services). Audio is processed in transit only ("ephemerally") — we do not record or store audio.
Text-to-speech and translation
Words you add are translated using Google Translate. Words are synthesized to audio using Google text-to-speech. Only the word text is sent to these services.
Cookies
We use cookies for one thing: keeping you signed in. These are strictly necessary session cookies set when you log in. We set no advertising or tracking cookies, which is why you are not asked to accept a cookie banner.
Analytics
On the website we use Vercel Web Analytics to see how many people visit, which pages they open, and which site or search engine sent them. It works without cookies, does not identify you, and does not follow you across other sites. What it records is coarse: page address, referring site, country, and device type.
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties.
- We do not show ads or use advertising trackers.
- We do not store audio recordings.
- We do not build advertising profiles or track you across other websites.
Data storage and deletion
Data is stored in a MongoDB Atlas database. To delete your account and all associated data, follow the instructions at /delete-account or contact us at the email below.
